Ponchos

Rainy season is here people!! This is actually a blessing in disguise for park goers. As I'm sure everyone knows, either by word of mouth or by experience, Florida summers are hot... I mean extremely hot! The rain, while adding a sticky humidity to the air, actually takes the temperature down a bit and offers up some cloud cover from the relentless sunshine. This can offer a much needed respite.

Do not assume that this means that you should either avoid the parks during rain or leave the park at the first few drops. Some summer storms will be extremely brief, while others unleash a deluge of stinging drops. My main advice is to COME PREPARED!

Ponchos, the perfect fashion accessory. Okay, maybe not, but it is a necessity. You can get ponchos at various stores and you can spend from $1 up to $25 per poncho, depending on quality, decoration or whether they're reusable or not.

I have purchased the $1 ponchos from Dollar Tree and Target which are not meant to be reusable. I love these little guys. They come in a small 3x4" package and can be reused. As far as wearing them multiple times, I have only used one over the course of 2 days, any more than that and it starts to be a little gross. However, I definitely feel as if I've gotten my $1's worth out of it.

Now, I do love the ponchos with cute or cool characters on them! The $1 ponchos are plain but if you head to Target or Wal-Mart you will find some very cute ones for decent prices. I got Vader and Minnie Mouse ones for Lisa and I at Target for $5 each. You can get Disney ponchos in the parks for $9 for child and $10 adult sizes.

If you have any tips or advice for ponchos then please leave a comment below. Thanks!
