Okay, so everyone knows that Florida is hot like 10 months of the year. But how can you still enjoy Disney despite the heat? Get a Cooling Towel.
No, seriously. If you are not already familiar with these awesomely magical towels then please read! Cooling Towels are just as the name describes, they are made from a highly absorbent and evaporative material that, once wet, produces a cooling effect with the help of simple evaporation. As long as the towel is wet, exposed to the air and allowed to breathe, the towel will evaporate and cool the user. In order to "activate" your towel you only need to Wet the towel and ring it out. Reactivation is just as easy... just add more water! They retain water and maintain coolness while staying dry to the touch.
Some brands are machine washable while others are hand wash only, so make sure that you check the product care instructions. These are readily available at Target, Walmart & Amazon.com. If you can't find them there then also check at sporting goods stores such as: Dick's Sporting Goods, Academy, Sports Authority, & REI. After a little research I found them in all sizes and thusly the prices vary. The cheapest that I found was $5 and the most expensive was about $20.
When I was baking - I mean sitting, in the sun for 2 hours in July, waiting for the fireworks, I probably would have died without this. Okay, maybe I wouldn't have DIED but I definitely wouldn't have made it through that wait. I wouldn't have had as good of a spot and might have had to go to the First Aid Center for heatstroke. Seriously, the heat here is no joke and even if I'm staying hydrated the heat can still really get to me. I highly recommend that you invest in at least one Cooling Towel! I know that I'll be using mine all the time now, and not just at Disney either!
