Magic Kingdom First Aid

Have you ever been enjoying a day at Disney and you get a painful blister? Or how about a nagging headache? Gotten sick to your stomach? Who hasn't experienced one (or all) of these inconveniences? But did you know that there is a First Aid Center at every Disney Theme & Water Park where a Registered Nurse can help?

I have definitely suffered my fair share, and then some, while at Disney parks but it wasn't until recently that I actually started utilizing this wonderful commodity. The first time I visited was when I needed an ice pack for a swollen ankle. The staff was great, they asked what my injury/problem was and offered a solution and asked if that would be satisfactory to me. You sign in with just your name and the time and then you're on your way.

The second time that I availed myself of their services was when my arsenal of medication, that I usually travel with, was devoid of some simple pain reliever. Again, no problem. I was given a dose for now and a dose for later of acetaminophen. While I was in line I overhead fellow guests requesting heartburn medication or even bandaids for those pesky blisters.

Now, the last time I visited the First Aid Center was due to a slightly more severe issue... nausea. After being sick at Jungle Cruise, a wonderful Cast Member got me a complimentary wheelchair; poor Lisa had to wheel me over to First Aid. Once there, they inquired about my symptoms and asked if I would like to lie down. I was taken to the back where there are individual curtained off rooms which include a bed, a chair, a table and some miscellaneous amenities. The other great perk was that each room had it's own light and a switch for said light. This was ideal! I was able to lie back and recuperate for however long I needed. Once I was feeling better, I simply went to the front, thanked them for their help and headed back out into the park.

So from someone who has already utilized the First Aid several times for varying degrees of illness or injury, I recommend that you make a little mental note of where the park's First Aid Center is located. It will be shown on the park map and in the MyDisneyExperience App as well. Or, just ask a Cast Member. Keep in mind though that they only offer quick-remedies and only over-the-counter medications.
